Meditation creates space for grounding, calm and balance in life. There are many methods of meditation. A practice can be tailored to the needs of the individual.
Used properly, meditation can be useful in clinical settings to help clients achieve balance, stability, focus and direction, and to manage stress.
Active forms of meditation and reflection including the use of expressive arts are useful for many people who may not enjoy sitting in silence. Sensory awareness meditations help a person to feel connected to their body and environment.
As a counselor and spiritual director I work with individuals and groups in a variety of settings to facilitate safe meditation practice.
